Everfast was a nationally distributed American cotton fabric brand active from the 1930s through the 1970s, whose name was a direct promise: colors that held fast through washing and wear. The brand built its reputation on reliably colorfast printed cottons sold through fabric stores and department stores across the country, supplying home sewers and the domestic furnishings market with a wide range of designs — novelty prints, sporting and wildlife conversationals, florals, and bold graphic patterns that tracked the evolving tastes of American home interiors across four decades. Everfast fabrics are appreciated today for their sturdy, well-saturated cotton construction and for the confident, unpretentious print sensibility that defined the best of mid-century American commercial textile design.
