Market Bags · Crewel
Kashmiri Crewel #1 and Indienne Garden #1, a 1970s Schumacher, are both crewel: the design is stitched in wool yarn instead of printed.
Market Bags · The oldest fabric in the drop
Bungalow, Larchmont and Griffith Park are cut from the Happily Married Collection, a Saison line printed in the 1940s. It is the earliest fabric anywhere in October.
Aprons · Featured hand-prints
Haiku, a 1995 Brunschwig & Fils print, and Brunswick from Payne Fabrics are both hand prints, pressed one screen at a time rather than roller-printed.
Nearly every piece is cut from a fabric we found once, so most run to one or two of a kind. When a drop opens it tends to go quickly, and some of these items are the last of the fabric we have.
